What are Waterproof Labels & what can I use them on?
Punkaboo's labels are manufactured with a professional-grade specialty adhesive and printed
on high-end business laser printers. These processes ensure that these laels will withstand
water & soaps and/or chemicals from sinks, dishwashers, bathtubs, & pools.
These labels are extremely durable and typcially last through 60 dishwasher washings. Using
extremely hot dishwasher settings or abrasive detergent can shorten this "life span". It is not
advisable to soak items in soapy water for extended amounts of time as this can break down the
adhesive.
Waterproof Labels can also go in the microwave- making it convenient to label reusable
plastic-ware, cups & more. Due to the ink process, Punkaboo's labels will not fade under normal
sun exposure making them ideal for sporting and outdoor play gear. I have found that problems
with labels beginning to peel typically stem from children "picking" at the corners.
It is important to make sure that labels are applied to a clean, dry surface and that there are no
air bubbles caught under the label. Some bottles and sippy cups- Avent, Dr. Brown's, and
Gerber are a few- do not do well with the large labels because of the contours. However, the
small labels work great for these. Waterproof Labels do not work well on "nubby" surfaces.
Can Waterproof Labels be used on clothing?
These labels are not specifically designed for fabric. That being said, they do work well on the
inside heelpad of sneakers, coats, and some bags. I use them on the tags of clothing, beach
towels, and sweaters/sweatshirts. I just make sure that there is not any exposed adhesive which
means I may need to fold the label over the clothing tag. I do not recommend applying them
directly to fabric (tagless shirts), inside shoes that are "nubby" such as crocs, or on nylon
surfaces like backpacks. They will withstand a normal warm wash cycle and moderate dryer
heat. Please keep in mind that these are NOT designed as fabric labels- these are just
suggestions for how they can be utilized on some clothing items.
What is the best use for Permanant (non-waterproof) Labels?
Permanant Labels (square, rectangle, round, address) are best for paper items, books, indoor
toys, school items, etc. The ink will not fade or smear, but the adhesive is not water-resistant so
they are not recommended for items which will get wet.
None of the labels work well on "nubby" surfaces.
How do I remove a label if I need to?
If you soak the label in soapy water overnight they should come off. I suggest using Goo-Gone
for any residue.
Can the colors of graphics be changed?
Yes, I am able to change the colors on most graphics. If you would like a graphic in a different
color (i.e. a yellow flower instead of pink or a red & blue airplane instead of green & orange) I
recommend you send an email inquiry to me at Jennifer@Punkaboo.com prior to ordering.
I will do the best to accomodate your request--after all, these are meant to reflect individual
personalities!
What if I do not like how my order turns out?
Punkaboo offers a wide selection of designs and types for you to choose to create your
personal "look and feel". Since different types vary in how letters look, please check to make
sure that you like the look of each letter you will be using before ordering. On occasion, you
may select a type I feel is not working well with your graphic. If this occurs, I will contact you with
recommendations for other types. I do recommend ordering a pdf proof if you are at all
concerned about how the finished order will turn out. However, be assured that I am very
particular about mywork and will only send you what I would want myself!
Do you send customers a proof of their order?
If you would like to receive a proof prior to printing and shipping I will gladly do so. The proof will
be sent as a PDF attachment in Adobe Acrobat version 8.0. You will need to have this program
in order to open the file. The proof will be sent 2-3 days from the date we receive your order.
We will tweak an order one time for no charge. Additional or significant changes will result in
charges due to increased design time. These charges will start at $3.00/proof.
Your order will ship 2-3 days from the date you approve the proof via email. It is important to
note that because of different monitors, some colors may appear differently than they will in
print, and the proof may be in a lower resolution than the actual printed items.
What forms of payment do you accept?
For on-line orders I accept PayPal. Through PayPal you may use MasterCard, Visa, or
American Express, or PayPal can process payment from a bank account. I use PayPal to keep
operating costs at a minimum, therefore keeping the products priced right for you! The charge
on your statement will appear as: Pay Pal "Punkaboo".
I do accept business and personal checks, but will wait for the check to clear before fulfilling your
order.
When will my order ship?
I will ship your order within 4 business days from the order date. If I receive your order on a
Monday, it will be shipped by Friday. If I receive your order on Saturday, it will be shipped by the
following Thursday. If you need your order sooner, there is a $15 RUSH charge, and the order
will be sent the standard method the following business day. I can also ship products overnight
for the USPS cost, plus the $15 RUSH charge.
What shipping service do you use?
All orders are shipped priority mail through the United States Postal Service with tracking and
delivery confirmation. Priority mail has a 2-3 day delivery time.
What are the shipping charges?
Items are shippend in priority mail envelopes at a flat rate of $5.00 per order. If the order is too
large to fit in one envelope, I will notify you of any additional shipping charges.
Do you do local pick-ups or deliveries?
Punkaboo is based in Carmel, Indiana. On the check-out page there is an option for local
pick-up within a 15 mile radius for the corresponding zip codes. Typically I do not deliver these
orders. I will send you an email or call to provide directions for you to pick -up your order. If
there are multiple orders from one location (i.e. a preschool or day-care) I will drop them off at
that location for your convenience. If the site does not give you the option for pick-up based on
your zip code, please contact me at Jennifer@Punkaboo.com and I will work with you to make
arrangements.
What is your return policy?
Since items are personalized, returns are not accepted. If your item is printed with an error
made by me, you will receive a corrected duplicate item at no charge. If the error was made by
the customer when ordering, I will redo your item at 70% of the original price.
